PAINTING WITH LIGHT

This body of work takes inspiration from the photographic technique of 'painting with light,' where a subject is held still in darkness and gradually illuminated by long exposure. In the same way, these paintings invite the viewer to slow down and uncover vulnerable moments that become visible through patience and presence.

The figures are held within architectural spaces shaped by crisp fields of colour. Velvet-like planes of rusty blush, cream, Prussian blue, and glossy black amplify their gestures. By remaining faceless, the figures take on a universal quality. Through their body language, whether gathered together or basking in rest, they embody both intimacy and resilience.

As with long exposure, darkness becomes the space where the quietest moments can be painted with light.
