Canned heat Live at the kaleidoscope

I led the art direction, graphic design, and packaging for the reissue of Canned Heat: Live at the Kaleidoscope. The original 1970 release was mistakenly titled Live at Topanga Corral, though the performance took place at the Kaleidoscope in Hollywood. For this reissue, I grounded the design in archival research, referencing original showbills for the sleeve artwork to restore its late-60s context. The deluxe edition features a custom box set with a circular CD tin can inspired by psychedelic posters, a custom-engraved harmonica and a slipmat. Together, these components reconnected the release to its rightful history while creating an elevated collector’s edition that honoured the band’s legacy.
